Residency and Movement of Sportfish on a Restored Oyster Reef

The goal of this project is to evaluate the residency and movement patterns of sportfish over a restored oyster reef in Matagorda Bay, Texas. Specific objectives of this work include determining the overall residency and site fidelity of sportfish over the reef and to examine seasonal and diel movement patterns over a habitat that is targeted by many recreational anglers. Results from this project will allow fisherman, scientists, and fishery management additional information into how species of recreational importance are utilizing the restored oyster reef habitat.
